Conference Background

Given the ominous political, social and economic forecast for 2011 and beyond, the Black Church and Black Baptists in particular, in cooperation with the NAACP, are compelled by necessity to revisit the historical well waters of our journeys.

The Black Baptist Church and the NAACP have deep historical roots and much to gain by rekindling a partnership to address the egregious economic, educational, incarceration and social realities of people of color.
“Cry out loudly, don’t hold back! Raise your voice like a trumpet. Tell My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” (Isaiah 58:1)

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19)
